Nice Looking Blogging Tool

I am making this post from the brand new WriteToMyBlog site which offers web2.0 word processing experience for blog posts. Think browser based Word with direct posting capabilities to your blog hosted by any of the main blogging services (Typepad, WordPress, Blogger.com, MoveableType). It seems quite useful and feature rich...I am going to test the "Post to multiple blogs right now!

Google Calendar Launch

The Google Calendar launched today. Nice Ajax design with sharing features galore.

• XML/ICAL feeds for public and private calendars.
• Share your calendar (and it will show up in Google calendar search).
• Auto-add invitations.
• Notifications via email, SMS and Pop-up
• Import iCal or CSV (MS Outlook)

 

How much longer until they link directly to their Writely based word processing app and when do they buy a Web 2.0 spreadsheet provider. iRows anyone?

Woah! Writely, the best of breed online word processor has been acquired by Google. These has all sorts of ramifications I think and is an interesting move as Google/Microsoft battle for online mindshare heats up. Their has been tons of talk about a Google OS, but here is another piece , along with gMail ,of what will probably become Google Office. I never heard any rumors about this...very interesting.

Update: Here is Jason Fried's analysis, with a decidedly 37 signalsish "less is better" take to the whole business. Personally I've never thought that web based applications would ever be designed to be as bloated with "fetaures: as most MS Office products.
