I remember always bugging our teachers in elementary school to let us watch some of our in class movie backwards whenever we had a Bell and Howell that would work that way correctly...Here's a video that takes that idea and puts it to use.

Update: I've made the suggested setting changes in the link above...they seemed to work for a couple days, but now the pop-ups are back. Especially at cnn.com. Anyone have more suggestions. AdBlocker does not seem to help!
